Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I use an air purifier?

Air purifiers are important because of the dangers of particulate damage. This affects all parts of our circulatory, respiratory and immune systems.

Particle pollutants affect our health in three ways:

  • Without clean air we are more likely to become ill
  • When we fall ill our symptoms will be worse
  • Without clean air we will take longer to get better

What about people with chronic conditions?

Common pollutants endanger people with chronic conditions more than the general population. Air purifiers, especially those with the capability to destroy those pollutants, are an effective means to alleviate those symptoms.

The Science

How does the technology in HealthyAir Purifiers work?

There are 9 separate patents associated with the technology. These revolve around the DNO chemical catalyst itself and its application in a filter setting. In a nutshell, the technology uses the amplified cleansing power of free radical molecules to break down contaminants into harmless gases and water.

It is able to clean the air rapidly in real time because one gram of catalyst has a surface area of 1000m2.

Do your purifiers remove COVID-19 from the air?

What we can say is that we exterminate 99.9% of the H1N1 virus, which has an even smaller particle size than COVID-19, and is also a ‘coronavirus’. While we are currently unable to say that our technology definitely kills this virus, we know that our unit is at the cutting edge of cleansing technology and is very likely to be able to kill it.

What proof do you have that the technology works?

The technology has been tested by the world’s leading independent test house, SGS, headquartered in Geneva. They confirm that it removes 99.9% of the H1N1 virus from the air. We hold other similar independent test results relating to other contaminants.

How long have you been making air purifiers for?

Our supply chain involves a number of different factories making the chemical, the filters, and the machinery. All have many years’ experience in manufacturing their respective components.

Where was the technology developed?

The technology was developed over the the course of 15 years by leading Oxford scientist, Tiancun Xiao.

The Purifiers

What makes your air purifiers different?

The unit is highly specialised and has been developed for over 15 years by industry-leading scientists. The filters are unique and the machinery boasts a sleek, user-friendly design, with high specification components.

What size space do you recommend the air purifiers are used in?

HealthyAir 500™ - any room up to 150m2

HealthyAir 30™ - ideal for small spaces e.g. a desk or a car.

What is the approximate cost per hour of running each unit?

Based on a standard electricity tariff, the HealthyAir 500™ will cost no more than 1.5p per hour to run on the maximum setting.

How will I know that the Air Purifier is working?

On the HealthyAir 500, the cut-out sensor and display panel on the machine measure the levels of PM2.5 in the air, which is a proxy for all contaminant levels. On the auto setting the fan will switch off when levels reach a safe level. An indicator light will change between red, yellow, green or blue depending on the PM2.5 level in the air.

The HealthyAir 30™ will indicate a red light if air quality is poor, purple if it is acceptable and blue when it is clean.

What other functions are the purifiers equipped with?

The HealthyAir 500™ employs the following functions.

  • Temperature and Humidity Sensors.
  • Child Lock
  • Remote Control Handset
  • Timer
  • Filter Replacement Indicator
  • Anion Negative Ioniser

How does the remote control work?

The HealthyAir 500™ benefits from a remote control, which controls everything on the control panel of the machine. There is no remote with the HealthyAir 30™.

Should you have the windows open while using the Healthy Air Purifiers?

This depends on the air quality where you live. If you are in an area with low levels of pollutants, or the current pollution levels are low, then you can use the machine with a window open.

If you live in an area with poor air quality (e.g. almost all UK cities, many towns, industrial areas etc), then you should not open the windows. This is because the air coming from the unit will be much safer than that outside, so you will be limiting the unit’s ability to sanitise your home.

Where should you place the unit in the room?

You should place the unit two feet away (or more if possible) from a wall, so that the airflow around the unit is maximised, and greater circulation in the room is possible.

What is the Clean Air Delivery Rate (CADR)?

The clean air delivery rate refers to the amount of air per hour that the machine cleans.

HealthyAir 500: 500 m³/h

HealthyAir 30:  25.9 m³/h

The Filters

How long will a filter last?

Generally speaking, a filter cartridge will last up to 12 months, depending on how dirty the air is and how often the purifier is used.

There is a filter indicator built into the HealthyAir 500™ machine which will let you know when the cartridge(s) need to be replaced.

What is the cost of a replacement filter cartridge?

£50 for replacement HealthyAir 500™ cartridges.

£30 for replacement HealthyAir 30™ cartridges.

Where else can I get filters?

Our filters are protected by multiple patents and, as a result, are only available through us.

How will I know when I need to change the filter?

There is a semi-circular bar-indicator on the screen of the HealthyAir 500, which will tell you when to change the filter.

What is the HEPA filter Grade?

Our units contain two HEPA 13 filters, which remove 99.95% of particles at 0.1 microns or larger.

Other Information

What is the warranty period?

Each HealthyAir Purifier benefits from a 1 year warranty period.

What is the returns policy?

You'll benefit from a 30 day risk-free trial. If you are not delighted with the benefits of breathing safe healthy air, you can return the purifier in as-new condition within 30 days for a full refund. UK mainland only.

HealthyAir 500™ Home Air Purifier

The HealthyAir 500™ helps to keep the air in your home safe by decontaminating the air in the room. It delivers 500 m³ of PM2.5-cleaned air per hour to the whole room, all the time working to avoid dead spots.

Using ground-breaking multi-patented DNO Pollution Erasing Technology invented by chemists in Oxford, the four-stage filtration system pulls in the contaminated air from around the room, capturing and destroying germs, bacteria and dangerous gases.

Two large inlet multi-patented DNO filter cartridges draw a large volume of air through the four-stage filtration system. A powerful fan projects a strong upward flow of fresh air, pushing it into the far reaches of the room and drawing in the uncleaned contaminated air.

This revolutionary home air purifier benefits from an intuitive control panel with five fan-speed settings. The remote control handset allows you to alter the settings from the comfort of your armchair. It is environmentally friendly, consuming just 45W at the highest setting, with automatic, sleep and low-noise modes.
